MISSIONS
(1) Provide physical understanding and analytical solutions, including
optical, electrical, mechanical, and packaging thermal analysis and modeling;
for the phenomena in optical systems, adaptive optical system, photo-electronic
system, optical communication and laser atmosphere propagation;
(2) Provide fast solutions for individual difficulty or problem that
occurs in product development, in a prototyping procedure, or in a manufacturing
and product yield improvement process, which suddenly becomes a bottleneck
in these activities. To solve the problem or to get an optimized solution,
the team needs a deep and systematic understanding in all branches of
physics with proficient mathematic skills;
(3) Special purpose model development that the commercial software is
inconvenient or impossible;
(4) Numerical prototyping for project idea and patent ideas -- verify
your idea theoretically first before using it -- an idea may not be achievable
in laboratory, or even on principle. Usually, if an idea has theoretical
support, it does not mean it is achievable in laboratory. However, if
an idea has no theoretical support, it does mean it is not achievable
in laboratory. Therefore an idea being theoretically verified is a prerequisite
before starting laboratory work;
(5) Software algorithms and procedures for hardware control;
(6) Financial modeling (including commodity and stock trading markets)
and analysis and strategy development of commodity and stock trading.

CONSULTING FEE
AND TERMS
The process of generating a project with 4Dperception involves 4 steps:
(1) Write a request-for-proposal (RFP) under a non-disclosure agreement
and send to 4Dperception by email consulting@4Dperception.com. In the
RFP, the scope of the project is outlined. The RFP should describe, in
details, the mission of project, and the existing problems or difficulties.
In addition, it should attach the acceptable cost, limitations, and preferences
if any.
(2) To improve efficiency, before the first meeting, 4D perception will
read and fully understand the mission of the project, and prepare some
questions regarding the unclear issues if any. Then we send the agreement-signature
with these questions back (by both fax and post mail), and get ready for
the first meeting for both sides if necessary.
(3) 4D perception then generates a project proposal with estimates of
time and material expenses. We provide quota of fixed consulting cost
which is based on the rate between $75/hour to $120/hour depending on
the time limitation or priority, plus material cost if any.
(4) After acceptance of the proposal, the project is monitored with regular
meetings until completion of the project.
Material purchased for projects are subject to our consulting overhead
rate. Our project proposal reflects our best estimation of time and materials,
however proposals are only estimates. Customers could provide feedback
so that 4D perception could make a best effort to make our customers satisfied
with the cost and service quality. Traveling outside California is additional.
Terms for all payments are net 30 days or negotiable. If the duration
of a project is less 30 days, the billing occurs at the completion of
the project, otherwise billing occurs monthly as measured from the start
of the project.
